Stop looking at the kitchen, look at the air conditioning
A renovated kitchen photographs beautifully and tells you very little about how the house will hold up over the next five years.
What I have learned to look at in Thailand instead: the age of the air conditioning units, whether the roof has been resealed and when, what state the water pump is in, and whether the electrics have been touched since the place was built.
Both of the houses I am still considering are on https://global-property.investments/ and the one with the plainer kitchen has newer units on every wall.
I have asked for the maintenance history on both. One owner had it ready in a folder, which told me a great deal on its own.
